The Stephen A. Mitchell Author's Award: Every two years, the IARPP Board of Directors and the Candidates Committee invite candidates to submit original unpublished papers for consideration for the Stephen A. Mitchell Authors Award. This award is conferred biennially at IARPP's conference, which will be next held in Madrid, Spain. The winner of the award will receive a $500 honorarium and will present their paper at the conference where it will be discussed by a prominent analyst chosen by the Committee. We extend an invitation to candidates from institutes around the world to submit papers. The paper should be complete and no more than 20 pages, double-spaced, in length, and needs to be written in English. Each paper should be accompanied by an abstract. This year's deadline is December 1, 2010. The writer must be a member of IARPP and a psychoanalytic candidate. A candidate, in terms of IARPP, is someone who is either in a psychoanalytic program or within five years of graduation or certification. The paper will be judged by an international panel of readers who have been selected by the Candidates Committee. The writer of the chosen paper will be informed in April 2011. Papers should be sent to the member of the Candidates Committee in your country. If your country is not represented on the Candidates Committee, you may send it to any member.
